The Licensed Mental Health Professional will be a key member of an innovative Safe Options Support (SOS) team, providing comprehensive care to homeless individuals living on the streets or subways.


The multidisciplinary team includes a leader, clinicians, care managers, and peer specialists, utilizing the evidence-based Critical Time Intervention model. Responsibilities include community outreach, coordinating needs pre- and post-housing, supporting daily living skills, offering counseling, and advocating against discrimination and healthcare inequities.


The role involves fieldwork, occasional on-call duties, and flexible hours. The team supports participants for months after housing to ensure stability and independence. The position requires a master’s degree in social work, mental health, nursing, or psychology, with licensure consideration for MSW candidates, and may involve travel within three counties.
