This full-time Recreation Therapist plans, organizes, and supervises recreational activities to promote healthy leisure, social skills, and development for youth in a human services setting.

  • Develops and implements diverse programs including arts, sports, and community trips aligned with treatment plans.
  • Supervises recreation facilities ensuring safety and performs maintenance as needed.
  • Documents progress, participates in treatment team meetings, and provides positive role modeling.
  • Supervises activities for up to three youth and assists in special event planning.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, youth recreation experience, CPR certification, and a valid NYS driver’s license.
  • Skills include youth engagement, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques, with an emphasis on ethical conduct.
