This full-time Recreation Therapist plans, organizes, and supervises recreational activities to promote healthy leisure, social skills, and development for youth in a human services setting.

Develops and implements diverse programs including arts, sports, and community trips aligned with treatment plans.

Supervises recreation facilities ensuring safety and performs maintenance as needed.

Documents progress, participates in treatment team meetings, and provides positive role modeling.

Supervises activities for up to three youth and assists in special event planning.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, youth recreation experience, CPR certification, and a valid NYS driver’s license.

Skills include youth engagement, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques, with an emphasis on ethical conduct.
